Cologne to host festival of Iranian films

TEHRAN – The German city of Cologne will be hosting the 4th Iranian Film Festival from May 24 to 28.

“Daughter” by Reza Mirkarimi, “Breath” by Narges Abyar, “Being Born” by Mohsen Abdolvahab, “Another Time” by Nahid Hassanzadeh and “The Sis” by Marjan Ashrafizadeh will be screened in the official section of the event.

“Darkened Water” by Alireza Dehqan, “The Lonely Lake” by Mohammad Ehsani and “Bruise” and “Bakhtak”, both directed by Mohammad Kart, are on the lineup for the documentary competition.

The festival also plans to commemorate late Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami by screening his 1990 masterwork “Close-Up”.  

“Close to Kiarostami”, a joint production of Iran and Germany by Mahmud Behraznia, will also go on screen as part of the commemoration program.
